Using a large saucepan over, combine the wine, orange juice, brandy, and honey. Add the cloves and star anise and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a simmer, not a boil, over medium heat and then reduce heat to medium-low. Gently simmer over low temperature for 10 minutes.
Serve while warm and garnish with orange slices and additional cinnamon sticks and star anise, if desired.
